Nippon Gases Euro-Holding’s (NGE) air separation units can produce industrial gases using certified renewable energy by purchasing Guarantee of Origin (GO) certificates from power supply companies. NGE has initiated a strategy to increase this amount of renewable energy by utilising such GO certificates and dedicated contracts for renewable energy through power purchase agreements (PPAs), offering products produced using green electricity. While the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Intensity from European power generation stands at 442.66 g-CO₂/kWh (European Attribute Mix 2021), the average Emissions Intensity for NGE is substantially lower, at 325 g-CO₂/kWh.
